From the south, take Hwy 19, then 19A toward Campbell River.  Pass through Willow Point and continue on 19A.  Anchor Inn is just past 2nd Avenue on your right.  From the north, take Hwy 19A through Campbell River.  Shortly after the Discovery Wharf (pier), you will see Anchor Inn on your left.

REGISTRATION:  Mon-Sat: 08:00 - 16:00. Closed Sundays and holidays. The 5 and one 10 km walk zigzag through business and residential streets to view the murals for which Chemainus is famous. LOCATION:  7-Eleven, 2188 Austin Ave (V3K 3R8). From Hwy 1, take Exit 44.  Follow Port Coquitlam/Mariner Way signs on Lougheed Hwy.  Left at first light (500 metres after freeway off-ramp), and right at the next two traffic lights.  Proceed up Mariner Way to Austin Ave.  Turn left, heading west, on Austin.  Esso Station is on south side heading up hill.  Hasty Market will be 1.5 km further west on same side of street as Esso. Do not park in Hasty Market parking lot. Park in the Mundy Park lots on Hillside St where there is one main lot and 2 overflow lots.

From the east on Hwy 1 (Trans-Canada Hwy), right onto Golden Donald Upper Rd. From the west on Hwy 1, left onto Golden Donald Upper Rd. Left into Tourist Information Centre. START POINT: Drive to the start / finish point at the Chamber of Commerce Information Centre, 10 Ave North. From the BC Tourism Information Centre turn right on Golden Donald Upper Rd.. Right on Hwy 1. Left on Hwy 95, which turns into 10th Ave North. Left into the parking lot at the Chamber of Commerce Information Centre at 500 10 Ave N just after the pedestrian crosswalk.

To obtain relevant stamps, mail $2 and documentation as indicated on the web site to Beverley Cattrall 1231 Hewlett Pl Victoria BC V8S 4P6. Route can be done from dawn to dusk. The two routes are on old rail-bed (Vancouver, Victoria & Eastern Rail line) to a covered bridge through residential area & orchards, returning on the opposite side of the Similkameen River.

LOCATION:  Alpen Café & Guesthouse, 1690 Warren Ave (250-427-7440) (V1A 1R6). From the south, enter Kimberley on Highway 95A (becomes Warren Ave). Alpen Café and Guesthouse is on the right at the junction of Ritchie St. From the north, enter Kimberley on Hwy 95A, drive through town until the Overwaitea Store at the bottom of a steep hill. Alpen Café and Guesthouse is one block further on the left.

REGISTRATION:  Mon: 07:00 - 14:00; Tue: Closed; Wed-Fri: 07:00 - 16:00; Sat-Sun: 09:00 - 16:00. Note Kimberley follows Mountain (not Pacific) Time. This scenic walk follows a wooded trail overlooking Mark Creek and the St. Mary’s River valley to arrive in Marysville, an early miners’ community. The walk resumes along the banks of Mark Creek back to the start point. Along the way are excellent views and peaceful rest stops along the side of Mark Creek. Watch for small trout in the tributaries leading into Mark Creek. Washrooms available at start / finish.

Follow Queensway to 1st Ave, turn right onto 1st, then left onto River Rd to Museum.   From Hwy 97S, cross the Fraser River on Simon Fraser Bridge. Directly after the bridge, take right exit ramp for City Centre via Queensway, left onto Queensway to 1st Ave. Right onto1st, left onto River Rd and Museum. From Hwy 16E, cross Fraser River on Yellowhead Bridge. Near end of bridge, take right onto 1st, left onto River Rd and to Museum.

START POINT: Retrace back to the junction, turn left to take the Pacific Rim Hwy towards Tofino, pass the Information booth, turn left on Lynn Rd. to small parking area on right and enter trail. If completing the 10 km option, return to Pacific Rim Hwy. and continue into Tofino (it becomes Campbell St.). Pass 3rd St. and “Welcome to Tofino” sign and park on the street in front of city Park.

LOCATION:  Maritime Museum of BC, 28 Bastion Square (V8W 1H9). In the centre of downtown Victoria, approximately 2 blocks north of the Parliament Buildings. Bastion Square is located between the ‘Bay Centre’ and ‘Inner Harbour.’  From Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and the Victoria International Airport, south on Patricia Bay Hwy (17). This becomes Blanshard St. Continue on to downtown Victoria.

TRAIL:  10, 13 km       RATING:  2B

REGISTRATION:  Daily 09:30 to 16:30 except Christmas Day. The 10 km route is a spectacular and scenic route that winds along the ocean to Macauley Point, with an extra 3k loop to Saxe Point. Both locations offer wonderful views of Fisgard Lighthouse. This oldest lighthouse on the west coast of Canada is located at the entrance to Esquimalt Harbour. The tower is a white conical brick tower with a red lantern. There is a brick 2 story light keepers house. It was established in 1860, and was automated in 1929 and continues in operation today. For a closer look at the lighthouse drive to Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Park in Colwood. Admission to the lighthouse is included in the park entrance fee.

TRAIL:  5, 10 km       RATING:  2B / 3B

REGISTRATION:  Mon - Fri: 08:30 - 19:00; Sat: 09:00 - 19:00; Sun: 09:00 - 16:00. Closed statutory holidays. About 2 km of this walk are in Lighthouse Park, including a viewpoint overlooking  Point Atkinson Lighthouse. The rest of the route is on winding, hilly roads and paths through a wealthy residential neighbourhood with some great views of Burrard Inlet. Not suitable for wheelchairs or baby strollers. Park may be closed during times of extreme fire hazard. Washrooms available at start / finish. This walk will also be done as a group. Check with contact for dates and times.

LOCATION:  Wild Willie's Ski Club, 7011 Nesters Rd 250-938-8036 (V0N 1B7). From Hwy 99, take the first left after Lorimer Street light, then right at Nesters Rd to Nesters Square.

The walk is suitable for wheelchair and baby strollers.  Call to confirm weather conditions for the X-country ski. There is a fee for x-country ski trail. Washrooms available at start / finish. This walk qualifies for the Special Volkssport Challenge to honour the 2010 Olympics if done between Jan 1 and Apr 30, 2010.
