The Volkssport Association of British Columbia (VABC) serves to unify the BC volkssport clubs and to promote their mutual cooperation, all within the Canadian Volkssport Federation (CVF). We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting healthy, non-competitive volkssport activities for people of all ages throughout the province. Although volkssporting activities include walking, swimming, cross-country skiing and cycling, walking events are the most popular among volkssporters in BC.

There are seven clubs in British Columbia, offering a wide variety of walks.  Walks include parks, forests,  urban streets and trails, and glorious lake and ocean views. In addition, VABC is responsible for over 30 other walks spread throughout the province. We invite walkers of all ages to join us on a walk. New members are welcome, but membership is not mandatory in order to join one of our walks. We'd love to meet you! And your first five walks are free! After that the cost is just $1 or $2 per walk.

  • Congratulations to Surrey Trekkers Volkssport Club for hosting a wonderful CVF Convention and AGM  in Langley!

  • At the CVF AGM Ethel Hansen of Bastion City Wanderers stepped down after 4 years as CVF President, and Beverley Cattrall of Garden City Wanderers was elected as the new CVF President. Congratulations to Beverley and many thanks to Ethel for her exemplary leadership.
  • PT 324 Yale and PT 258 Invermere are two brand new Seasonal Permanent Trails (open May 15 - October 10). Check them out (especially if you are doing the A to Z program and need an 'I' or a 'Y'!)
  • Please note that the start point for PT063 Delta - Ladner  has moved to Ricky's Restaurant across the road from the previous start point, ABC Country Restaurant.
  • Note also that the walk box for PT164 Vancouver - Shaughnessy/Queen Elizabeth Park has moved from Starbucks to Indigo/Chapters at the same address. It is now in the Cash Office behind the cashiers on the main floor of Indigo/Chapters at the corner of Granville and Broadway.
